There's nothing like driving behind sand and salt trucks all winter to give us a fine appreciation for the value of our windshield-and the benefits of having it in one piece. If it develops a crack, you really need to get it fixed as soon as possible. The question is, if you go shopping for auto insurance quotes and buy a policy AFTER the windshield cracks, will they still cover the repairs?
Because both rear door windows were inoperable, I assumed that there must have been some other electrical glitch, such as a bad control module. Well, you know what they say about assuming. I did a little internet research and found that the General Module controlled the locks and windshield replacement and that sometimes, the relays go bad and need replacing. I found some relays for the General Module and ordered them for $75. They arrived a few days later.

If it suspiciously takes longer, be careful because the technician might be tricking you.
This process could take some time, especially on a heavily used PC. When it's done, Windows Backup will prompt you to create a system repair disc. You should do so: While Windows 7 does install recovery files directly into the boot partition, in some cases; these files will not boot the PC. If that happens, you can use the system repair disc to boot your PC, a requirement for restoring the entire PC with the system image (as we'll see in the next section you can use any writeable DVD for a system repair disc.
When you're ready to go, click the Next button in the Restore Files window. Windows Backup will ask you to decide where you want to restore the files to; either to their original locations or to a new location.
Convertible tops last about eight years. Check that the cover is not in contact with the frame which could cause damage. If you can see scratches on the rear window, visibility will be bad. Also a crease in the window could hinder the view. The crease can be prevented by placing a towel in the fold, so the window can not be compressed.
